"Carmel by the Sea" captures a portion of the California Coastline in Carmel. The cool, earthy tones are reminiscent of brilliant nature scenes which are prevalent throughout California. The bold brushstrokes represent the fortitude and magnificence of the ocean and the coastline. While the two seem to be fighting against each other, the waves crashing against the coastline creates a beautiful picture and reminds me that just as in life, beauty and harmony can be found among the chaos.
